
Gideon Ofosu-Peasah
Gideon Ofosu-Peasah is an Energy Economist and an Energy Market Entry Consultant. He has expertise in Energy Security, Petroleum Economics, Natural Resource Governance, Sustainable Energy, Research, Data mining and Visualization in energy and mining.
He also serves as a Steering Committee Member for the Media Coalition against illegal mining (Galamsey) and Coordinator for the CSO Working Group on Ghana’s First Oil Block Licensing and Bid Rounds.
Prior to his current role, he served as Online Editor for www.reportingoilandgas.org, Program Manager and Policy Analyst at Penplusbytes (an international NGO), where he provided insights, advice, training and led in producing robust research-backed projects on the DFID extractive (oil, gas and mining) sector. In that role, he has worked with the media, civil societies, government officials and other stakeholders.
Prior to his work at Penplusbytes, he was Data Analyst at Chase Petroleum Ghana Ltd for 5 years.
Gideon has consulted for DW Akademie, GOGIG/ MCAG among other organizations. In 2018, he was nominated by the Ghana Energy Awards among Ghana’s top seven (7) rising Energy Stars.
He has published three (3) scholarly research papers, four (4) policy papers, six (6) advocacy articles and over twenty (20) blogs at the prestigious Social Science Research Network (SSRN) electronic journal, Business and Financial Times, Graphic Business.www.reportingoilandgas.org and various online platforms
Gideon is a doctoral student at the University of in research, oil, gas & mining governance.
